Why has the hygiene of kindergartens and schools (always been) so important?

We have witnessed that in many educational and upbringing institutions before the pandemic, proper hygiene maintenance was not highly prioritized. However, the drastic changes brought by the coronavirus raised awareness about the importance of cleanliness.

Scope of the cleaning plan for kindergartens, schools, and higher education institutions

To always maintain a high standard of cleanliness, reliable means/machines and proven methods should be used. In this regard, a precise hygiene maintenance plan for all rooms in a given school building must include the following:

• which surfaces are to be cleaned and at what intervals;
• methods and specifications of cleaning (manual, mechanical, disinfection, pest control);
• which personal hygiene products are used (paper goods, soaps, disinfectants, air fresheners, and toilet bowl cleaners);
• which additional devices and means are applied (hand dryers, dispensers for paper towels and toilet paper, soap and disinfectant dispensers, bags).

Daily cleaning

Daily cleaning is performed using professional, non-toxic liquids and includes treating all frequently used surfaces:

• multiple washing of toilets and limescale removal (scrubbing of toilets, urinals, sinks, sanitary ware, mirrors, brushes);
• disinfection of door handles and sanitary ware;
• mopping floors;
• cleaning and emptying trash bins;
• regular and timely replenishment of paper supplies (towels, toilet paper), soaps, and hand disinfectants;
• cleaning and disinfecting school desks and chairs;
• wiping furniture in administrative offices (desks, armrests and legs of chairs, electronic equipment);
• vacuuming carpets and rugs.

All these activities are carried out in accordance with the MSDS list, which we provide upon the institution’s request.

General cleaning

General cleaning is carried out periodically, usually every 3-6 months, or as needed (after renovations, window replacement, major construction work) and includes:

• cleaning of all furniture;
• washing of glass surfaces;
• cleaning of blinds, window sills, and frames;
• cleaning of doors and door frames;
• removing cobwebs;
• antivirus disinfection of contact, frequently used surfaces (handles, switches, counters, electronic equipment);
• vacuuming carpets in offices with vacuum cleaners equipped with special filters for deep cleaning;
• deep washing of carpets and upholstered furniture in offices;
• machine washing and polishing of hard floors;
• thorough cleaning of toilets and dining areas (including wall tiles).
